[EVENT] Olympiad

The Olympic Games — a timeless tradition of humanity to determine the best of the best — are coming to the world of GodsWar.

Starting May 1st, a monthly Olympiad event becomes available in the game. This guide explains how it works and how you can increase your chances of becoming a champion.

The Olympiad event runs from the 1st to the 15th of each month. During this period, you can register by speaking to the NPC in Thebes. Upon registration, your character will receive Olympiad Points based on their level. The formula is: character level × 10. You can check your current point balance with the NPC at any time. Progress and ranking can also be viewed on the official leaderboard page.

Once registered, we recommend forming a reliable team, as your group’s coordination directly affects your success. You are not required to use the same team for every match, but a consistent and coordinated team has the best chance of winning.

Olympiad matches are available daily in two time windows:1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM (server time).
During these times, your team may register for a match.

Match registration requirements:

  1. A team must consist of 5 players.

  2. All players must be online.

  3. All players must have remaining daily match attempts (limit: 10 per day).

  4. All players must have a positive Olympiad Points balance.

If these conditions are met, any team member can speak to the NPC and register the team. There is no need for each member to register individually.

When registering for participation in the Olympiad, the player must participate in matches with the class with which he registered throughout the Olympic season. Matches in which he will participate with a changed class will not be taken into account in the crediting of points. Thus - if a player has registered to participate in the Olympic season as a magician - only matches in which he plays as a magician will be taken into account when counting points.

Matchmaking logic:

  1. The system selects the team that has been waiting in the queue the longest.

  2. It then searches for an opponent with the closest total Olympiad Points.
For example, if your team members each have 1,000 points, your team total is 5,000. The system will search for an opponent team with a similar total.

Once a match is found, both teams are automatically teleported to the arena.

The match has a time limit. During the match, you must defeat as many opponents as possible. The winning team is determined by the following conditions:

  • The team that defeats all enemy players
  • The team with more surviving members when time runs out
  • If both teams have the same number of survivors, the winner is the team with the higher total Olympiad Points

Points and rewards:

After the match:

The winning team receives Olympiad Points

The losing team loses a portion of their points

The number of points gained or lost is calculated using a rating index based on the difference in total points between the teams. The index is the ratio of the lower-scoring team to the higher-scoring team.

For example:
Team A: 10,000 points
Team B: 1,000 points
Team A’s index = 0.1
Team B’s index = 10

Points are awarded/lost using the formula:
(Character level ÷ 3) × index

So, if a character is level 100:

In Team A: 100 ÷ 3 × 0.1 = 3.3 points

In Team B: 100 ÷ 3 × 10 = 330 points

This system allows underdog teams to catch up by defeating stronger opponents, making the competition dynamic and fair.

Each player can participate in up to 10 matches per day.

On the last day of each month, the Olympiad season ends and winners are determined. The top two players of each class in each faction are declared champions — a total of 16 winners (2 per class per faction).

Champions receive a special buff that lasts until the next Olympiad season begins (2 weeks). This buff grants +10,000 HP and a visual aura that distinguishes the champion in the game world.

The Olympiad system may be rebalanced after the first season based on collected match data and player feedback.
